Directed by Adam McKay and starring Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly, Step Brothers is a story of two lazy young men, who live as prodigies but are forced to become roommates when their parents marry. Brennan Huff and Dale Doback are about 40 when their parents decide to marry and these two boys, still living with the parents, must now share a room. The union leads to initial discord threatening the peace in the household. This is broken when they are finally threatened to find a job. Out of the job search and their love of music comes a pact that leads to friendship but the chaos never stops as the two boys develop the habit of sleepwalking. Hovering nearby are Brennan’s successful brother and his lonely wife: the brother wants to help sell his stepfather’s house, the wife wants Dale’s attention, and the newlyweds want to retire and sail the seven seas.
